  • More Info From The Farmer

    • How did you come into growing coffee?

Originally I had 10 female cows and 1 bull.  They were pure-bred Holstein cows from Colombia with a production of 140 liters per 2 weeks.  Then I had an uncle whose name was Olmedo Romo and he grew coffee.  One day he told me to plant one hectare of coffee, Sidra is a good variety and I planted 3 hectares of Sidra then. I then didn’t have money for the farm because I had to invest money for 2 years so I had to sell 5 cows. When the coffee started to ripen. After 2 years the financial issues at home started to fade away because we had our coffee to sell. When the coffee was ready we did business with Café Imports.  Now I like to drink coffee before I didn’t drink it, now I drink it every day, it’s delicious.

    •  What is a day in your life like?

It’s a very fulfilling day to see the tree’s flowers.  You can appreciate the aromas at a distance and you see the bees how they pick up the honey from the flowers.

    • What opportunities are you looking for from people that buy your coffee?

We want to get a good price for the quality of the cup and traceability.  I want everyone to like my coffee.

    • Where does your passion come from?

The passion comes from the sweetness and the aroma of a cup of coffee.

    • What makes this green crop different from others that you have harvested?

It seems like this harvest the trees look healthier and greener.

    • Are you looking to grow relationships with people a year to year to buy from you?

Yes, I am.  I like to get to know people from different countries.

    • What makes your coffee different from others?

The variety (Sidra) and all the flavors it has and Café Imports and their customers like it.
