Cold Brew coffee

Brew Guide

What you will need

64oz Mason Jar or air tight container

Alto coffee  Filter or built in filtere

Grinder

200g of coffee grinded for drip

Cold Water

Scale

Step 1:

Weight & grind 120g of coffee. We recommend grinding the coffee on the finer side, closest to how you would grind for a pour over.  (Not Coarse)

Step 2:

At 120 grams into a Alto coffee filter, metal strainer or included filter basket with you container.

Step 3:

Use cold water, ideally fridge temp <40F.  Add 400g of cold water directly into the filter, during this time use a stir stick to ensure all coffee is wet & saturated, if this step isn’t done, there will be dry pockets of coffee.

Step 4:

Add remaining water until you hit 1600g total of water.  This should leave 1’’ gap from the lid, if using a 64oz container.

Step 5:

Stir the coffee in the filter, at this point the water should be pretty dark brown as all the coffee should be saturated.

Step 6:

Place in the fridge for 22 hours.  You can leave as long as 24 hours but we recommend 22. At 12 hours you can remove & stir the coffee grounds again.

Step 7:

Remove the coffee filter, either the bag, metal filter or basket & let remaining  cold brew strain into the mason jar.

Step 8:

You can now fill up the container to the top with cold water.  From here you can either drink straight or dilute more to taste.

Step 9:

Enjoy

If you prefer a lighter cold brew, you can either dilute the final product with more water or use less coffee. For a bit stronger taste you can use more coffee &/or dilute the concentrate with less water.
